read more › Not your usual start-up, Ray Pac actually had about a 30 year history in the replacement x-ray tube market under a different name. Now with a new manufacturing facility and sourcing from new channels, the company needed a completely new brand image. Because Ray-Pac currently retains one of the biggest inventories for replacement x-ray housings in the business, Bates Design developed a unique Inventory App where customers could easily check to see what was in stock. Based on the concept of the "Ark", with two of everything, the campaign created an distinctive and memorable way to get the point across.

read more › For ReFuel, a new start-up convenience store chain offering fresh hot food and beverages in addition to gasoline, Bates Design created a corporate logo based on a subtle food theme. Fresh lettuce green and tomato red colors, and the friendly shapes of hamburgers and hotdogs, all worked together to communicate the message that ReFuel is an inviting place to stop and get "refueled". Our creation of the Branding Guidelines, providing specifications on logo usage, corporate colors and type, store graphics, and in-store touch-points such as cups and t-shirts, helped to insure brand consistency as future stores come on board.

read more › Bates Design was tasked with developing the brand identity and website for Rate Acuity, a B2B start-up service focused around identifying efficient energy data. We loved that Rate Acuity would be offering alternative and clean energy data such as wind, solar, and water to their mix of the standard fare. Our strategy was to give Rate Acuity a clean environmental look with bright blues and greens, and bold photography. Modern infographics and spot illustrations reinforcing their services gave us what we needed to launch this start-up on the right track.
