Bonnie attended Layton School of Art (now known as the Milwaukee Art Institute) and the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.
She began her career in the mid-1960s as an illustrator with the Gibson Greeting Card Company in Cincinnati, OH, moving on to advertising agencies in the Midwest and eventually the DC area where she was the Senior Designer for the METRO account when the subway system opened in 1976.
In 1978 she founded Innovative Projects.
Bonnie has worked as a "hands-on" designer for over 40 years as well as creatively leading her design teams.
